FAQ

How do I order from {Sneaky} Cakes?

Ordering is easy-peasy!

  1. Fill in the information on my “Contact” page, letting me know exactly what you need and when, with a way to contact you;
  2. I will be in touch to confirm your order with you and provide you with a link for payment.

How do I pay you?

After confirming your order, I will send you a link for payment through my Etsy store. It uses Paypal to process all payments so you will have a choice of using a credit card or debit from your bank account. When you find us at a pop-up market, etc. we will take cash payments.

Where are you located and can I pick up my order?

For the moment, as I don’t have a storefront, picking up orders most days just isn’t possible. You may find me, however, at charity events, pop-up and farmer’s markets, birthday parties, etc. I do personal delivery within the Tri-Cities area (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows) on a flat-fee basis.

For deliveries outside this area, I charge for delivery. There isn’t a minimum order, but you will be charged in advance for the product and the delivery.

What is your minimum order?

There is no minimum order, but see above about delivery charges.

What is your maximum order?

Unfortunately, that varies from season to season and day to day, depending on the number of other orders, etc. The quickest way to ensure your order can be done when you need it is to fill in our Contact page and I will confirm with you.

Can you make me something gluten/dairy/nut free?

Unfortunately for people with food sensitivities/allergies, I use wheat and dairy in almost every product, and nuts in many of them. I would rather you knew up-front that {Sneaky} Cakes is wheat/dairy/nut FRIENDLY, so you can make a safer choice for yourself, as even with the utmost care, the chances of cross-contamination still exist. There are many bakeries in the Lower Mainland that deal in safe products for you. If you are looking for gluten-free, I highly recommend cloud9specialtybakery.com Their gingersnaps are amazing!

What about fat free? I’m on a diet.

Nope, sorry, there are people out there who do fat-free better than I can. However, might I suggest that having one truly delicious treat might save you from eating that entire box of fat-free cookies you’ve been eyeing?

Is there a price break if I order ½ dozen or a dozen of something?

Only if you have purchased one of our “Treat of the Month” or “Cupcake of the Month” packages…they come with greatly reduced delivery charges!

Is your product ever frozen?

The short answer is sometimes yes. The longer answer goes back to how I have committed to doing business. Freezing is the safest way to keep product fresh over a longer period of time. On larger orders, it is impossible to bake everything the same day it goes out, so yes, the freezer is sometimes used so that everything is ready to go on time at the same time. When you consider that the alternative is a bunch of nasty chemical preservatives, I’m sticking with my old-fashioned freezing technique!

I love what I purchased from you!!! How can I let you know?

I love happy customers and I do my best to make sure everyone is satisfied! If you love are products and want to tell us about it, please add your positive feedback to our Etsy store (you will receive a link from Etsy to do so); comment on our Facebook or Twitter pages; or comment on our blog on the page for the product in question. We would LOVE to hear from you!

Um... something went wrong. I’m not happy with what I received.

It is unfortunate, but every so often a customer might be unhappy with what they have received. If this is you, please contact me immediately by email, and I will do whatever I can to make things right for you. I value your business and the trust you have placed in {Sneaky} Cakes to provide you with something delicious.

Why don’t you sell red velvet cake/cupcakes?

I promised myself when I began {Sneaky} Cakes that I would never sell anything I wasn’t excited to eat myself. Quite frankly, I’ve never enjoyed red velvet cake. However, I have been told my grandmother made an amazing red velvet cake, and I have recently located her recipe in the vault, so once I have tested and perfected the recipe, red velvet will likely be the next addition to the menu.

Where are you going from here?

What I envision for the future is a small neighborhood bakeshop, sun shining through the front window, where people will want to stop by to pick up coffee and a muffin in the morning; linger over lunch with an old friend in the afternoon, and think of fondly while serving a dessert that evening. A bakery that creates treats from ingredients you recognize, handcrafted by someone who loves food. When you step in the door you will be greeted by the smells of your grandmother’s kitchen.
